The Collections Curator is responsible for management and care of the collection for the NC Maritime Museum at Southport. This position oversees proper storage, documentation, and receipt of objects for the museum’s collection. This position reports to the Museum Site Manager and supports the work as a team member with the Collections Manager at Beaufort to plan for the care of the larger Maritime Collection. This position also serves as a member of the exhibition team. This position submits yearly budgets for collections care and has knowledgeable of museum standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Applying museum methods regarding collections care and conservation.
• Conducting research into historical objects.
• Object processing includes cataloguing and condition reporting.
• Maintaining collections’ software files.

Hiring Salary $35,596.00 - $48,238.00
