19.63 Donation Campaign

Please support our mission of Building Better Museums Together by making a tax-deductible donation of $19.63 (or more) to honor the year NCMC was founded.

Since December 4, 1963, when 35 museum professionals met in downtown Raleigh and established an organization that would connect colleagues throughout the state and promote their institutions regionally and nationally, the North Carolina Museums Council has supported North Carolina museums and museum professionals across the Tar Heel State. Led by a rotating group of volunteer Board members, NCMC still strives to enhance public education by improving the administrative, interpretive, and collections practices of museums, historic sites, science centers and related facilities in North Carolina. NCMC is dedicated to continuing support of our colleagues and institutions through networking and professional development events, advocacy representation at local, state, and national levels, scholarship opportunities, professional resources and consultations, and more to meet the needs of our profession. This work would not be possible without the support of our members, colleagues, and friends!

In honor of the 60th anniversary of the North Carolina Museums Council, we are holding a year-long fundraiser with the suggested donation of $19.63. This fundraiser began December 4, 2022 and will continue until December 4, 2023. All funds will be used in the operation of NCMC and continuing support of NC museums and professionals.

Starting July 1, your donation can go even further with a matching pledge up to $1,000! From now until December 4, 2023, all donations of $19.63 will be matched by our generous friends, Vicky Kruckeberg and Carl Noid, up to $1,000. Please help us take full advantage of of their generous support and make a donation today.

We have benefited from our involvement with professional organizations throughout our careers, as have so many of our museum colleagues. The 60th anniversary is a chance to recognize the great work done by NCMC on behalf of us all, and the warm collegiality of its board members, volunteers, and members statewide. Please join us in celebrating NCMC with a gift this year.

To help add a level of competition and to highlight our new ‘Regional’ representation within NCMC, we will be keeping track of which region these donations are coming from. Each week, we will update our website reflecting which region is raising the most in this donation challenge. The region with the most money raised as well as the region with the highest participation amongst its members will receive special recognition at our 2024 Annual Conference in Cherokee.
