Audio Description in Museums (Piedmont Region Workshop)

Cost: $15 for NCMC Members/$20 for Non-Members
Max 20 participants

In this workshop, participants will learn from Felicia Ingram, Manager of Interpretation, Accessibility, and Diversity, North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA), accessibility accommodations, specifically audio description (AD) in museums. She will lead participants to ask are AD's in museums and why is it important? Then workshop participants will practice audio description basics and how it can be useful in the work environment. Participants will look at examples of how audio descriptions are used at the NCMA and other museums across the US. While audio description is intended for people with visual loss or blindness, everyone can benefit from AD. Light refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Greensboro Science Center. For more information or questions regarding the workshop, please contact Scott Warren, Piedmont Region Chair, at piedmont@ncmuseums.org.
